My Sonnet

Darkness

At times, we need something to help us see,

The light that shines above the darkest things.

Of course, we feel we need to be set free;

But, I can see what heaven never brings.

Darkness is stronger than the brightest light,

That lights up everyone’s happier life.

Nothing can tell us other ways of sight,

As my life is a broken carving knife.

But now, the morning will start to arise,

And I will always remember the times.

The darker things that I simply despise,

And the things that I call my “kitchen crimes.”

The world is a place where we all are dead,

Or is everything just inside my head?
