SET BC – Supernatural Riverside Project On Littering

(The following is a video I made with my friends Karl Disu and Jasmine Gill. The video’s target audience is Riverside students and the topic is waste management and what you can do to help with our litter problem.)

Collaboration Fluency Reflection

When we first started in our group we weren’t really working well together and one of our group members was always off task. To help us work better I put our jobs and goals time-wise on the Onenote and this gave us all a clear objective. But that one group member wasn’t doing any work still. So we set a meeting up with all of our group members and Mrs. Jackson and then me and our 3rd group member (not the off task one) made a list of things we need to see from said group member so they could stay in our group. This really changed their mindset and work habits and they ended up doing their share of the work and a bit more. They even wrote the whole script! (me and Karl are not very confident in our script writing skills). After that our project and collaboration was a breeze. We got lots done and were ahead of most of the people in the class. That one meeting was a big turn around for the group and this group couldn’t have done well without it.

Self reflection Wood Work 10

The image with the official self reflection document was not displaying properly so here is the text I wrote.

One of my learning goals is to learn how to make box joints. With these two projects I learned 2 types of joinery Miter saw joint from the box and wood lamination from the cutting board. When I feel discouraged about my work I remind my self that this was the first time I did what ever it was and that this was a learning opportunity and that I’d do better the next time. When i have to wait for something like glue to dry. Some strategies I use when I am feeling impatient are to read a book, do homework or whittle a piece of scrap wood.
When I want to make something new I get ideas by thinking about what I want to make and how I could go about doing it. what helps me when I want to get a new idea is looking at other peoples ideas then i can invent my own thing with some aspects of their idea. Usually I want to get a new idea about something after I watch a movie.

Here are pics of my projects:
