Exponent Law Summary

Multiplication: That they must have the same base and instead of multiplying the exponents you add them.

$x^2\cdot x^5 = x^7$

Division: That they must have the same base and instead of dividing the exponents you subtract them.

$x^{12}\div x^4 = x^8$

Power:

$(x^3)^6 = x^{18}$

Negative:

$\frac{1}{x^{-4}} = x^4$
