Three reasons why I would love to be on this island

Three reasons why I would love to be on this island

Many people may read this book and think to themselves that being on this island would be terrible. That there would be nothing but fighting, violence, and fear. However, has anyone thought of how amazing it would be to go on vacation for a couple months? Just leave everything behind and relax?

Free vacation!

Over the years my family has spent a fortune on two week vacations that I’d always wish would last longer. These boys get a free, “stay as long as they want” vacation and they are taking advantage of it. Instead of soaking up the sun on the gorgeous beach, they are chasing each other with sticks. Instead of taking long hikes in the breathtaking forest, they are burning it down. William Golding spends nearly three quarters of the book writing about how beautiful the island is, so who could pass up this opportunity!

All you can eat fruit buffet

When people think of being stuck on an island, they firstly think of starvation. Luckily, for these boys that wasn’t a problem. They were blessed with many fruit trees and pigs. Yet, they complain about wanting more meat. How can someone pass up fresh tropical fruit?

No school or parents, only friends

If I were stuck on this island with my friends, I would be in heaven. Not only is there no school to stress us out, but also no parents to tell us off. We would be living young, wild, and free, without having to worry about day to day problems. Also, no math!
