Black & Blue restaurant, Vancouver’s largest rooftop patio, captivates you from the minute you step through the door. Thanks to the retractable roof and cozy fireplaces, this summertime paradise transitions into a year round retreat. The zebra print pillow cases and glass elevator isn’t what brings most people in, it’s the delicious food. My personal favourite has to be the creamy mac n cheese filled nuggets that are deep fried and sprinkled with bread crumbs and finally drizzled with a soft mayo sauce. Shockingly, that’s only the appetizer. Well known for its eccentric cocktails, Black & Blue serves the majority of them without alcohol too (thankfully) which is great for the youngsters. As you are waiting to receive your order, the tangy jalapeƱos fill your nostrils with a teasing sensation, leaving you wondering why you didn’t order more. While enjoying your food the soft sound of birds chirping and music playing quietly in the background allows you to converse with companions. My seating preference has always been the snug couches, but who wouldn’t. Although the cost might be a little steep, making your way down during happy hour should keep your wallet heavy. Eating downtown with my friends has always been one of my favourite outings, especially when it involves some cute waiters. Black & Blue finds a flawless way to fuse together a cheerful atmosphere and posh food to create an ideal place to eat.
