Photography 11 Portfolio

 My 2018/19 Photography Portfolio

Lara Kawasme

Whenever I take photos I try and make them look bright or cheerful. In photography and art photos turn out best when you show a certain mood and generally my photos have a happy and cheerful mood.

There are quite a few responsibilities for a photographer. You must be organized and manage your time well or nothing will go how you want it to. You also have to be able to express your creativity and feelings into your work. A lot of people are hesitant or shy to express their ideas into their work but a photographer, or artist, must learn to be open at showing their creativity and feelings into their work and open to new ideas. Even though I really like photography and enjoyed this course I don’t think I’ll be taking anymore classes on photography but instead just take photos in my own time causally for fun.

Final Reflection

i. What part of your finished portfolio did you find most successful and why?

The most successful photos in my opinion are the natural light portraits. They turned out almost exactly how I wanted them to and it’s also the project I had the highest mark on. I was extremely happy on how they turned out. It was also the project I enjoyed the most because I got to go outside and take photos.

ii. What part of your finished portfolio did you find least successful and why?

My least successful project was probably my typology. All the pictures didn’t go together as well as I hoped they would. Also looking back at it the lighting looked sort of weird.

iii. If you had the time, what project would you like to redo and why?

If I could, I’d redo the studio portraits and typology. I think I could have done a lot better if I were to redo it now because I know what I need to fix. As for the studio portraits I didn’t have enough time and I found myself quickly doing the photos and not focusing on what I could be doing better. If I had more time for the studio portraits, I definitely would have done a lot better because if would have spent more time taking photos and reshooting to get a better photo.

iv. Any final thoughts?

I enjoyed this course and learnt a lot about photography. Not only did I learn about photography, I learnt how to manage my time better and how to be more organized with my work. I enjoyed all the projects we got to do because I learnt a lot from each one.
