Semester reflection

Semester reflection

During my time in tech team, I have learned and participated in many things. For example, At the very beginning of the year, I volunteered to go to school for the grade 9 orientation and help out for the tech day where the Grade 9s learn how to set up their edublogs and learn how to use them. Then I also learned about how to use a Cricut and other tech team assignments. I most like learning how to use the Cricut even though at first it was quite overwhelming. I find it hard for myself to start a project especially when it comes to technology and I have no idea where to even start. However, once I learned how to use it, I got addicted. I  now use it all the time and I recently just used it to make stickers for my ski helmet.

Another example is when I had to figure out how to use the Divi builder. It was also very overwhelming for me because even though I knew what I was doing, the thought of not knowing everything and having to discover by mistakes is very scary to me. However, I worked on it with a friend and managed to understand the very basics of how it works. I’m still figuring it out as I go but I’m definitely more comfortable using it now than I was before.

I am still going to work on my fear of working in unfamiliar ground and hopefully I won’t get so overwhelmed and stressed.

In my opinion, I think the riverside staff is doing very well in terms of supporting their students, however, there is one thing I can recommend. I know this problem is hard to fix, however, I would still like to mention it; they could improve the wifi. For example, finding the dead zones in the school, like classrooms and grand spaces, and fixing it.
