Community Connections (Kevin Park)

Hi i’m Kevin Park living in Canada Vancouver Port Coquitlam. I am a grade 9 riverside secondary student. we had an assignment to interview someone that is involved with what skill I’m interested in. I interviewed a Korean teacher. (Jae Yun Jung) why I interviewed a teacher is cause I wanted to learn some important skills that teachers have. Such as, how to teach, how to draw attention from the audiences and more on. why I’m interested in education is because based on my 15 years of life, learning is easy, but teaching was really difficult. So, I wanted to interview a teacher that I currently is a teacher not a resigned teacher.

  1. 1. Why are you passionate about your job?

“I found that I love teaching stuff to people , and I also figured that I like children. That’s why I chose to be a elementary teacher.”

2. What obstacles have you faced to get you where you are today?

lot’s and lot’s and lot’s of study and work. I also had to study multiple subjects, how to teach well, and always need to think what the students want, and how they are. still working on those stuff!

3. What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you are doing?

if being a teacher is really inspiring you, I think there is no better job that will teach you life, love. But you would have physical, mental stresses often.

4. Would you be open to further contact from Riverside Secondary students and if so, how can someone contact you?

Contact this student that interviewed me.

5. can a elementary teacher also be a middle, high school teacher?

No. They are separated. Have to study different major’s.

6. When you study to be a teacher, are there benefits for any certificates?

if you take the recruitment test, you receive a certificate to be a teacher. But if you don’t the certificate, you can’t be a teacher.

what i learned from this assingment

how to get ready for being a teacher, what skills you need to be a teacher and more on. an important part that I learned about being a teacher is when you be a teacher, there will be physical and mental stresses often. And I also felt that I should be a good, bright student to the teachers. Because every teacher that I met told me that they suffer from lots and lots of work, and really take a lot of effort for just one lesson. Being a teacher is leading young grownups to the right way.
