digital foot print

how might my digital foot print affect my future opportunities?

my social media has nothing “inappropriate” on it, its a clean profile. I mainly post about things like food, art, and my dogs. but that doesn’t mean it cant affect things. on my art account I am active in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, if I want to work in government or a work place they maybe don’t support that and then look at my digital foot print. when they see I support them they possibly wont hire me. Or in another case someone might see that and want to hire me because of it.                              See the source imageSee the source image

describe at least 3 strategies I can use to  keep my footprint safe and appropriate:

  1. I can check that what I’m posting is not bad or harmful to others
  2. I can keep my personal information private and not share it/ keep my account private
  3. respect others and don’t cyberbully/ double check what you say on the internet See the source image

what information do you wanna pass on to the other students? and how would you?

I want to say the internet isn’t as safe as you think it is or want it to be. some pieces of advice are: don’t post stuff you wouldn’t want a stranger or parent to see, never share personal information (phone#, school, age). I could inform students of this through my story on social media, or putting some advice in my bio, or just telling them in person.
