Will Time Travel Be Possible?

I’m sure we all remember making a fake time machine when we were young but we never questioned if it could actually happen. There’s no dought that there will be time travel in the future… but the question is how long will it be until we do. Einstein first led us in this direction by putting this idea in our heads. Time travel has been a question we’ve all asked about once in our lives. but why do we only move forward in life and we can’t move backward… were always planning for the future, like what we are going to make for lunch tomorr0w or what we want to wear next Friday when we go out. We always have a concept of time.

Scientists predict there will be time travel near the 25th century which is not far away but they assume we will only be able to move ahead in time and not backward as it is way t00 dangerous. Only Astronauts have “time traveled”. You might ask well how would that be possible if they haven’t invented time travel yet but while traveling to space they would have clocks in the cabin and the clock would run slower in space than it would back on earth. When they got back they would arrive shortly after the clocks would say. But no one cares about a couple of minutes of time travel we want to travel a million years ahead to see what it would be like.

The only way we would be able to time travel would be if we travelled at the speed of light.                “If you reach 99 percent of the speed of light and spend like a year moving at that speed–around the solar system, say–and then come back to Earth, you will find that the Earth has moved on, 100 to 200years into the future,”  – Dr. Ulvi Yurtsever.

It’s easy for us to walk forward and then walk backwards but why can’t we crack an egg and then un crack it? Why doesn’t the direction of time allows us to do this? Scientist say that the entropy of the universe is always increasing… so to have low entropy everything would be very organized and proper and high entropy is very messy and unorganized like a ship sunken at the bottom of the ocean. Just like how the universe started after the Big Bang.

So if time travel could be possible how would we do it? In order to time travel, we would have to travel at the speed of light. Time travel to the future would be much easier as we have technically already time travelled into the future but if we could time travel 1000 years into the future and came back to this exact time how would it be? In order to time travel, we could use wormholes even though there is no scientific proof they exist, physiologists say if we could use wormholes would have to be stretched out to a size that we can travel through it. Wormholes are a tiny hole that is smaller than an atom that can get you from one place to another. So if we wanted to time travel in the first place we would have to find his tiny wormhole and expand it.

So if time moves backwards would it affect our present time or the future? Or will we evem have time travel in the future? I guess we won’t know until the day comes.

COL REFLECTION

What question did you need to research in order to research your topic?

I search a few things to find my information. I used gale engage learning and a few videos and documentaries from youtube and word. I would type in questions like “will time travel ever be possible”, “how does time travel work”… etc.

What new or familiar digital did you try to use as you worked through this project?

I mostly used gale engage learning and if I used google I made sure it was from a trusted website with all correct information.

What was the process you used to investigate the topic?

I first found my information and then I organized them in the notes sheet then I put them into my own words and then made my post.

How did you verify and cite the information you found?

I mostly copied the link that was on the document from the things I was reading and I copied the video link from the youtube videos.

How did you process of completing this challenge go? What could you have done better?

It wasn’t a very hard project but at the same time, it was. by trying to find information on a question that cant be answered is more difficult than you think. I could’ve got more information on the topic.

  1. Very ineteresting Kate! Good research. A little more attention to your sentence structure but a great blog post👍🏻

  2. very interesting Kate! Good research. A little more attention to your sentence structure but a great blog post👍

  3. Unfortunately there is no way time travel would ever be possible. This is because it would require a specific type of technology that would have to contain the power of a black hole. Also, if this WERE to happen we should not mess with it since something as powerful as time travel, could destroy the world as we know it.

  4. An interesting wonder question. You have included a lot of discussion about the possibility of time travel but I believe you could take this question even further. Your question is addressed with numerous posts that ask “Is time travel really possible?” You could deepen this question by asking “How could time travel impact overpopulation?” or “In what areas should we put our time to develop time travel methods?” What do you think would be a good unGoogle-able time travel question?
