Part II :
During this project, my group asked the question why does silicone make things waterproof. Everyone in our group enjoys hiking and at some point have needed rain gear. As we began the first thing we did was figure out what we wanted to research, I feel we came up with a good question that wasn’t too broad or too general. The next step was to come up with sub-questions and divide them up equally amongst our group. I feel that the question, where surprisingly hard to reach each, I suspect because silicone is really similar in spelling to silicon. The main things we discuss when we talk in classes where about who was doing what, making sure there was no confusion, and to keep in communication with the rest of our group on where we are, what information we cant find and more.
Personally, I was in charge of how silicone makes things waterproof, physical and chemical properties of silicone and how silicone is produced. I found that quite often when reaching these things that more often than not instead of getting information on silicone I would get information on silicon, one of the elements silicone is made of. I feel I did the best I could on this research, there are some small things I wish I could have done, such as finding more physical properties, but overall I think I did a pretty good job on this.
The next things we talked about where the construction of the project since I am not that strong with spelling we decided that I would be in charge ao pictures, which I couldn’t find 1, Jada would stress a lot if she didn’t edit the document at the end, so we gave her that job and that left Mathew to put the information we found into the presentation.
The final planning step was how are we presenting our project, we decided on a Prezi as we all are familiar with power points and you can do more things with Prezi.
I feel that the collaboration went really well, I feel partly because we made sure everyone was aware of what their jobs were and we all trusted each other to get their part of the work done. I would definitely do a project with Jada and Mathew again.
A really comprehensive presentation. I appreciate how you included formulas in your Prezi and talked about how siloxane is a covalent compound. I also liked how you included that silicone has little demonstrated negative effects on wildlife. Could you please try to embed your Prezi into your post? It makes it easier for your readers to access.
