For taking your kid to work day I went to work at Save on Foods with my mother. here are the questions I asked or answered.

The interview:

1. What is your job title?

receiver

2. What is your job description?

Receiver/bulk clerk/dairy/grocery/produce/whet ever Clark (her boss) tells her to do.

3. what are the duties and/or tasks you perform at your job?

receive, unload trucks, co-ordinate food bank donations, write dairy/bulk orders, manage bulk, manage store supplies/garbage, stock produce/grocery, etc

4. what qualifications do you have for this job in the following areas:

a.)training

trained in each department with on job experience

b.) education

none

c.)experience

general grocery store experienced

d.) skills and attributes (personal qualities)

good time management, people skills, attention to detail, able to do a lot of stairs and heavy lifting and comen sense.

5. what are some things you like about the job?

the People I work with (especially the truck drivers)

6. what are some things you like about the job?

the people she works with

7. how do you anticipate this job changing in the next 5 years?

More online, automated and more self-driving trucks 😢

a)  The truck drivers are fun

b) There is not really a boss

c) Laurence makes good sushi

a) Too many stairs
b) Gumpy truck drivers
c) The really early start (5 am)

 

3. Is this job for you? Why or why not?

I think this job is something I could do and would enjoy. but don’t could do it forever. Although I can do the physical labour, and I have the aptitude for it, I couldn’t do it forever.

4. Explain the value of the TOKTW experience in relation to your ideas about your post-secondary (after high
school) plans (education? training? travel? work?)

I think this experience is something really important. It shows students what a job, that they probably have a lot of exposers to) really entails. This experience is valuable for when the student I accuracy going to get a jab. I honestly feel that this I something really worthwhile.
