Huntington: How does remote actually work? How does it affect the person with Huntington’s disease hand to click the right button?

I decided to have this question because I’m curious to explore how Huntington’s disease affect someone’s hand or other parts.. I think my question might also help us how we could make the remote if we know how it works and knw what to do or change on the remotes buttons and if we know the reason or how it affects the person’s hand to click the right button on remote .

What is a Huntington disease?

  •  it is a progressive brain disorder that could cause emotional problems, loss of thinking ability and uncontrolled movements.. usually people in thirties or forties has it.

How does Huntington’s disease affect body?

  • Base on what I have searched the thing called chorea and the other is Dystonia. Chorea, it tends to affect head, face, legs or arms. Have uncontrolled flinging of arm or leg. You may drop things easily. Dystonia, this can lead to abnormal posture, twisting movements, or repetetive moments.

What is the cause of Huntington’s disease?

  • Huntington disease is caused by an inherited defect in a single gene. It is an autosomal dominant disorder, which means the person with one defective gene develop the disorder. A person inherits two copies of every gene, one copy from each parent. Defective copy from one parent could pass along the defective copy or the healthy copy. Therefore, each child in the family has 50% chance of inheriting the gene that cause genetic disorder.

  • First, knowing Tim having problem on his arms made me curious about Huntington’s disease and how it affects the person. So, I searched about Huntington disease. I searched what Huntington’s disease first and more. I also found out that maybe Tim have chorea that affects his hand and other parts. Have some memory loss forgetting things colour. I also found out how we could help Tim on a remote.

  • A remote uses lights to carry signals from the remote to the device it controls. It releases invisible infrared light that agree to specific binary codes. Based on what I’ve researched a person with Huntington’s disease usually causes movement cognitive and psychiatric disorders with wide spectrum of signs and symptoms. Some disorders have greater effect on functional ability. one of those is Tim having uncontrolled movements and maybe memory loss.

My critical questions

  • how do we connect remote to the tv?
  • how does Huntington’s disease affects the body?
  • what is Huntington’s disease?
  • how could we make the remote?

  • I used Tinkercad for the first time on this project. it made me confused at first but it’s good and creative. I would like to explore more on Tinkercad to really understand how to use it.
