On September 24th we talked to Tim Mephams who have huntington disease that we are going to help and his daughter Nicola, they were in Nicola Lodge. In Every group someone will ask a question to him and we’ve learned a lot from Mr. Tim and made us think some ideas on how to help him and knew that one of his problem is when he stand he need to hold on something hard so he won’t fall and remote like on his computer when he click and he love to draw. We saw some of his drawing and it is so nice. At first it is kind of awkward but then when the call get longer I felt comfortable and happy for being able to help him after. when they said about the remote I’d like to help him make a remote to help him click the right number or whatsoever like on his laptop but then I thought about the finger pen holder because he loves to draw. The one I focus on is the finger pen holder maybe it would help him on drawing and think maybe it will be a good idea because he love to draw. Maybe my mom and dad could help me with it. First I need to know the size of his finger so it will fit and the sizes of brushes and anything needed for painting. I’m still looking for the steps on how to make it because I can’t find any.
Digital Footprint
How might the digital footprint affect your future opportunities?
- it might affect you if you find some work. Because when they find something about you in the internet they might see things what you did before that is not really good then you might get fired from your work and it will be difficult to find a work.
- it might also put you in danger especially if you share a lots of things about yourself like your address, number, what ever important things you have that you share on social media.
Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe?
- Keep your comment or post appropriate and respectful remember you are not the only person who will see it. Make sure that no one will get offended on your post. Do not post bad things that can affect your future and something more personal.
What information did you learn that you would pass on other students? How would you go telling them?
- I learned that posting inappropriate pictures comment or anything inappropriate in any social media can affect our future someday. Posting anything more personal about yourself might put you in danger too. Every picture, comments, and videos you post if you deleted it will still be saved in your digital footprint inappropriate or not all you post will be save. I would like to tell other student like me while it’s early make sure everything you post is appropriate and be aware on what you will post. Think before you post.
Safety Story
One day in science class… Students were told that they will have to dissect but first they had to choose which should they dissect a mouse or frog and they chose frog. After they found a group they went to the lab and saw some signs.
Harmful – careful with sharp things or something that can harm you inside the lab.
Health Hazard- for some thing that might affect their health
Before they started dissecting they should wear some safety equipment first like safety goggles to protect their eyes, gloves for some dirty stuff and maybe to protect them from cutting their hand and an apron so their clothes won’t be dirty if something splashed from what they are dissecting. One of the students noticed that two of her classmates wasn’t wearing safety goggles and gloves so she told them to wear it but they refused and said they are careful and will make sure that they won’t cut their hands and splashed something from what they are dissecting to their eyes. When they started dissecting all groups were serious and careful except of group 4 which is the two girls who didn’t wear a safety goggles and gloves group, they were having fun when someone screamed because of pain it was the girl who didn’t put gloves, she accidentally cut her hand. The teacher immediately went close to her to cure the wound. After a minute someone screamed again and it was the other girl who didn’t wear safety goggles something from what they are dissecting splashed into her eyes. Someone went to her and looked at the map to find where the eyewash station was. It was somewhere outside the room at the left.
The girl was sitting and stopping the bleeding of her hand and the other one went to the eyewash station. Other students finished it without any problem because they listened to what was the instruction given to them by the teacher before they started dissecting.
Rapid Nation
I want to make new friends and make some good memories here in riverside.
