What direction should the BC forestry industry take?
I think where we are at with the forestry in BC is good but we can always make it better. We are able to employ many people and as well as providing trade with other countries. If we keep on clear cutting trees in our forests there will be lots of problems in the future with not being able to harvest any more lumber, the industry may crash and animals habitats will be lost. We can help this not happen by Silviculture which is replanting trees and letting them grow but that takes time for the trees to grow back. It will help to maintain the environment and the demand of lumber.
Any idea how effective our silviculture practices are? Are we replanting enough trees or cutting more?
