I enjoyed the lab because it was fun rolling the up the salad rolls and super fun.
What reasonable thing would you do to alter this recipe to keep it healthy or make it healthier? What would this add to the recipe (i.e. vitamins, minerals, fats)?
I would add avocado to this recipe to make it healthier, also I don’t really get to each to much avacado so it’s a good way to add avacado to a meal. Avacado would add 20+ vitamins and minerals and healthy mono unsaturated fatty acids.
Often, rolls like these are served deep fried. Most people understand that deep frying food is not healthy for us. What exactly does deep frying do to our food? Why does it become unhealthy? What, if any, nutrients are added that are not great for us?
Deep frying food adds fats and calorie intake. It becomes unhealthy because all the oil is absorbed into the food and all of those fats and calories aren’t good for you. They can increase obesity and stroke if fried foods become a major staple in your meals. Ex. Potatoes. A potato contains 220 calories and less than 1 gram of fat. And when you deep fry the potato, it then contains 700 calories and 34 grams of fat!
