Welcome to my biology project on an inquiry I did. Here below is an info graphic I made for this project. You guys are welcome to look through it. my inquiry question was that What are the future implications (100 years from now) of genetically modified babies? This question was a very hard question to answer because it did not say the exact answers on the internet. That is why this is a meaningful question, it is not a simple question to answer, its clear and concise, and it can not be answered with yes or know.
Solution Fluency:
- DEFINE: How could the advancement of this genetic technology be used to meet a need that isn’t currently being met. For this genetic technology to get better in the future, genetically modified babies should get cheaper so people can afford to buy them because right now at this point they cost about 100,000 dollars and that is very expensive for people to buy. Another way they can make this technology better in the future is to make advancements in IVF. In the future they should probably make advancements in genetically modified babies. certain things may not be ethical in some ways because if they make more genetically modified babies the regular babies may feel bad or useless. Also it could affect the way they look.
- DISCOVER: what are underlying issues? who is affected? what stances have certain countries taken on the issue? what other questions need to be researched to get the information needed to take a stand. some underlying issues with designer babies are that mostly they are to expensive, they cost a lot. It could affect how they look when they are born and when they grow up. Maybe the regular babies are affected because they would be useless or bad because the genetically modified babies are taking over so then no one will want to have a regular baby and they would rather have a designer baby. They could also want a designer because woman will not have to go through so much pain if they have a modified baby. Other questions that need to be researched are that how would designer babies be made and why re they being made, what is the purpose to have them in the world when you can have a normal and regular baby.
- DELIVER: Share your opinion through an info graphic. Use a format is as effective as possible. Include media that gets your idea across. In my infographic I tried to make the presentation look very good so when the reader looks at my post they would like my infographic and they would want to read more of it. So that is why I have made my presentation look good.
- DEBRIEF: Reflect on the quality of the product and the process you went through. I would say the quality of our product was pretty good because we had a lot of information about designer baby’s and the affects and issues there are. The design of my info graphic was also really because we chose a template so we could make the info graphic look better and at the end of it, it turned out really good. The process, I would say went okay because I was struggling a lot with the research and how to find the answer because the question in was trying to solve was really difficult because there was not really an answer to it.

Great work on the future implications of designer babies. Part of your question, though, was regarding what it could look like in 100 years. I would have liked to see you discuss that further. Great job including citations to back up your work. Good explanation of your solution fluency process.
