Part 1
The first thing I will do to keep me safe at work is to trust my gut feeling because all the people in the videos that got hurt didn’t listen to there gut. The second thing I would do is ask questions when I’m not sure because most the people got hurt because they thought they knew what they were doing but didn’t. The last thing i would do is back away from doing a task if it doesn’t feel safe.
Part 2
Something I would do to keep people safe at work is if I see something that doesn’t looking right or safe I would tell them so they don’t get hurt. Another thing I could do to keep people safe is if I see someone doing something not smart and dangerous i would tell them to stop before something bad happens.
Part 3
The video that struck me the most is the girl who got her fingers stuck in the machine. This video affected me the most because i really dislike seeing body parts being bent ways that they shouldn’t be, it gives me a bad gut feeling.
Our podcast is about a murdered indigenous woman named Ada Elaine Brown. Although the police stated that she died from natural causes the autopsy showed that she died from an aneurysm caused by a Subdural Hemorrhage. Her family believes that a particular man that Ada knew was responsible for her death. The family was unable to provide further information about the man as Ada never discussed him in detail. In the end no one was ever charged in her death.

In 2013, Ikea came out with a commercial called “Start Something New.” The commercial was about a man purchasing a portable chair and realizing he can take it anywhere so that’s what he did. Ikea’s commercial used a several advertising techniques such as plain folks and emotional appeal to catch the audiences attention. The first technique Ikea used was plain folk this uses ordinary people in their ads. They used this because they wanted to send a message saying this can be you and everyone can do it. The second technique they used was emotional appeal to make the audience feel emotions. They did this by showing the man going to the same bench everyday, for multiple weeks, then one day his spot was stolen, making the audiences feel sorry for the man. The commercial used the technique again when he brought a portable chair to the park, and realizing that he can take this chair anywhere, leading him to travel and live a much happier and free life.
