Sushi and the western world

Sushi and the western world

This idea came when I decided to have Sushi for lunch on one of my weekends, so I became interested in it and appeared to stumble upon this article.

What makes me interested in this is he talks about sushi, literally, with an introduction on Fish markets and sushi in Japan, and the history of impacts of Japanese cuisine in North America, which I’m curious at, not knowing anything about it. The writer dedicatedly describes different stuff, e.g., all the food – with details – included in a specialized sushi course of a High-end New York sushi restaurant, how sushi is actually served (one piece at a time, served and consumed immediately), and occasionally throws in bits of humor (The chair of nothing/Succulent!). In this article, the writer also reveals that people get hooked on into sushi culture because of, surprisingly, sugar addiction, similar to that of power bars. He expresses his views on of people “blindly pursuing trends” with everybody forgetting their health, which can be quite dangerous when they only focus on raw fish over rice, potential enemies of heart diseases.
