My Digital Footprint

When I googled myself, I found almost nothing about me because my name is so common, which is something I’m used too.

  1. When I think about how my digital footprint might affect my future, I know that it snapchat-logocould affect how I get a job, depending on what I post, what I search and what’s said about me online. It could also affect whether you get into a university or college, the people deciding if you get into the school can look up your name and if they see something remotely bad that you wrote online years ago, tumblr-logothey could decline you.
  2. Some strategies twiter-logothat you can use to insure that your digital footprint is appropriate and safe are that you could double check that what your about to post or comment isn’t severely offensive to anyone that could read it. You can also make sure that no one instagram-logohas posted any pictures of you online that could look like or that could actually be you doing something bad or saying something bad. Lastly, you can make sure that what your telling online to people isn’t completely in true and that your not lying about something big or important.
  3. What I learned that I would pass on to other students is that practically everyone, can access what you do online. I would also ask-fm-logotell them that all their social media should be private. even thought a lot of adults will tell them that, its really important and its not always the cool thing to leave your Instagram public. To tell them this, I `would tell them about my experiences and how I just recently learned about all of this. I would also tell them about how when my social media facebook-logowas public, a lot of people started to follow me and I blocked all the people I didn’t know but it would have been easier to just leave my social media private and only accept the people I knew.
