Circle Talk

    Circle Talk

One can learn through oral communication by meeting face to face. So, when our whole class had our talking circle, we got to share different stories about our past. The stories could be about where we came from, who we honor, our culture, our favour childhood memories and more. This really helped to learn about the people in our class because I got to picture what they were sharing by listening to how they told their story with their words and body. You can learn through oral communication because you learn better by experiencing the event. I will have a better chance re-telling their stories because I was involved in the experience. The aboriginal people would tell stories about their ancestors and these stories would be passed down for generations.  This exercise-built community in our room because our class came more together as a whole. We all got to tell stories and to learn a bit more about everyone in the class. We heard lots of different stories which made me think about how we are each unique and have different perspectives and ways of doing things.
