Task #1 – After getting the novel please read chapters 1-2 for Friday’s class

Task #2 – Come up with 3-4 questions per chapter that will help them understand the novel and promote discussion. These need to be typed and saved in a file and should have answers to them

Friday, June 3

Task #1 – Students are to partner up and ask their questions to one another to review the story in this way. There should be audible discussion taking place.

Task #2 – Please read chapters 3-4 for Monday’s class and again come up with 3-4 questions per chapter that will help them understand the novel and promote discussion.

Riverside’s Spoken Word

May 6

After attending Riverside’s Spoken Word, you will be required to write a reflection and post it on your blog.  See the criteria below:

  • Select your favourite presentation
  • Record the title and the speaker
  • Include a brief summary of what the poem was about
  • Provide specific reasons as to why you selected the poem and what you like about it
  • Answer the question: If you had to perform a spoken word presentation in front of the school, what topic would you present on and why?

In preparation for attending Riverside’s Ted Talks next week, we’re going to spend the next couple of classes looking at this great resource. Below are two of my favourite presentations. Watch both and be prepared to discuss them.
