Main Concepts

Multiplying Rules: Just do it!

  • What this means is that you simply have to multiply the numerators with one another and the denominators with one another and presto!
    • Make sure change mixed numbers into improper fractions
    • Just like with adding and subtracting though, your answer needs to be in its simplest form.
    • You can also cross reduce to save you some time.

Dividing Rules:

  • Find the reciprocal of the fraction being divided.
    • The reciprocal is found when you swap the numerator and denominator or simply turning the fraction upside down.
  • Then simply follow the multiplication rules
