What is an inequality-
An inequality compares two values, showing if one is less then or greater then the other an example of an inequality is 2x < 7 + 9 inequalities can also be used on a number line to show what the expression means.
Graphing inequalities-
You can graph inequalities by putting them on a number line. When your graphing it you either have to have an open circle or a closed circle on the number line. If the circle is open that means the number that the circle is on can not be a solution but if its a closed circle that means the number can be a solution.
Inequality symbols-
These are the four symbols for inequalities <, >, ≥, ≤ the first one which is < means less then so an example 4x < 12 means 4x is less then 12. The second one is > which means greater then an example is 9x > 15 which would mean 9x is greater then 15. The third one is ≤ which means less then or equal to so 7x ≤ 14 means that 7x is less than or equal to 14 and the last one is ≥which means greater then or equal to so 3x ≥ 7 means 3x is greater then or equal to 7.
