Trebuchet Project Reflection

For this project, my partner Jayden and I set out to build a fully functioning tabletop trebuchet that would be able to throw a golf ball at least six feet. We started strong with a plan for success and a list of materials that we would be using to complete the trebuchet. We managed to complete the base and triangular braces with fair ease, but once we got to building the weight the plan began to fall apart. We decided to change the plan for the weight during the process of making it and that decision ended up with the weight not being heavy enough to get the full six feet. Some things that we did well during the project were, our ability to change the plans and make decisions and our overall cooperation. If I could change one thing about this project, it would be spending more time on the weight and probably do it by myself as it seemed more difficult with two people trying to work at the same time. We finished successfully in getting the amount of distance needed but not without trial and error as we spent almost an hour getting all three successful attempts. In the end, I’m glad that we did this project and enjoyed the experience with a new partner in this class.
