“Don’t Be Afraid” Poem And Analysis

The type of poem I chose is a narrative poem because I love stories and narrative poem tells a story that is exactly what I wanted, narrative poem let’s you choose if you want it to rhyme or not.

My inspiration is the earth because I learned about how the earth was not like today. I learned it when I was in grade 8 and I wanted to make a poem out of that.

The theme of the story is to not be afraid to explore new things and you don’t have to stay where you are.

I used rhythm (AABBCC) except for the first and second line because I could make it rhyme, but I love things that rhymes, it sounds better when the words rhyme.

I used personification, metaphor and simile. I used personification on the land and it’s being described as if it’s moving or walking. The line “Crossing the burning lava desert” is an example of a metaphor. I compared the land with a puzzle on the second line to create a simile.
