- Ezekiel Zraly, Professional life guard
why you chose to interview that individual ?
- I chose this person to interview because I’m interested how life guarding is from their perspective and how long and hard they had to train
what you learned from the interview and how that connects to your passions/interests ? I learned that how difficult and hard it is to become a professional life guard and interested because I also want to become a lifeguard for my future
Why are you passionate about you job?
I am a very active person so choosing lifeguarding as a job seemed like the best bet. I also love communicating with peers and coworkers and truly understanding them. Also teaching swimming lessons helps me learn to become more patience.
What obstacles have you faced to get you where you are today?
I faced many obstacles to get where I am today. I had to take many courses throughout these past few years to get where I am now. These courses were very physically and mentally challenging, but I overcame these obstacles to become the person that I am. I am very grateful for these many opportunities that I had.
What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you are doing?
Personally I would tell them that they should start get more physically involved since lifeguarding is very physically demanding. I would also tell them that they need to establish a good set of communication skills before starting since lifeguarding is very big with communication. Another point I would say is to actively volunteer for the cities since they hire those who have many volunteer hours.
Would you be open to further contact from Riverside students and if so, how can someone contact you?
I am currently very busy and I cannot be further contacted sorry.
When did you start lifeguard?
I started lifeguarding two years ago and have been actively doing it every since.
What made you interested in lifeguarding?
My sister was a lifeguard and was already an active swimmer so I made decision of doing lifeguarding as well.
