Classifying Chemical Reactions with Analogies

In science we are using analogies to help us understand the four different ways to classify chemical reactions. We must include a general equations and an real example of a chemical equation. I used the theme of socks for my analogy.

Synthesis:

A + B = AB

4Li + O2 = 2Li2O

Decomposition:

AB = A + B

Li3P = 3Li + P

Single Replacement:

A+BC = AC + B

3Be + Mg3C2 = 3Mg + Be3C2

Double Replacement:

AB + CD = AC +BD

Mg3P2 + 2Na3B = 2Na3P + Mg3B2
