In this experiment our group made our own type of aluminum boat. We were given marshmallows, a toothpick and a piece of aluminum.  Our boat was shaped like a bowl, therefore it held the most pennies out of all, we even set a record. Our boat held 95 pennies before it sank.

Hypothesis:

If we make our boat into a bowl shape, it will hold a couple hundred pennies because there is more space for the pennies and the marshmallow at the bottom helped.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, our boat did better than it expected, our group didn’t expect Sally to hold 95 pennies. We made the walls higher with little pieces of aluminum and tape. That’s one of the reason it held up. Also, my hypothesis was not right, I underestimated the weight of  95 pennies, therefore my hypothesis was wrong. Overall, I’m proud of the boat we made, everyone in the group participated in making the boat and suggesting ideas on how to make it better.
