Forgiveness

Anyone can hold a grudge on someone, but it takes a true character to forgive. For me, forgiving someone releases yourself from a painful experience and lets you move on with your life. What happened might’ve not been ok and that person doesn’t have to be in your life, it just means you can move on and make peace with the pain. When you haven’t forgave someone, you have a weight on your shoulders weighing you down, that panful experience will forever be on your mind and it will be difficult to move on, but once you forgive the weight is lifted from your shoulders and leads to happiness in the future. I believe we learn through the painful experience and come out with a new outlook on life. Take “Walking after Midnight.” The wife’s husband died, but out of it she got to teach and help kids learn about the danger of drugs and alcohol. Forgiving is hard because you have to let go of what that person did to you. I believe that God forgives us for the sin that we commit and that he loves us no matter what. So taking that thought, I forgive in my daily life so I am more like Jesus. “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.”- Colossians 3:13. Jesus ultimately forgave us by dying  on the cross for our sins, therefore what others do cannot compare do what we have done, so why can’t we forgive others?
