Personal Opinion:
Personally, I think that sandpaper is very useful, without it every single wood product you can think of would be rough and uncomfortable, you grandparents rocking chair would not be comfortable to sit on because there is a high chance of getting a sliver, and those are not pleasant. But I also think that as a society we could probably go without sandpaper, it is important but with our growing ideas we could probably make a new product that does something similar as sandpaper, because I don’t think anyone wants rough rocking chairs and floors.
