Patrick Marleau is back with The Sharks

Article

The NHL San Jose Sharks team is my favourite sports team. I follow their progress relatively closely and was devastated when we lost to the St. Louis Blues last year. This year’s start was also disappointing and the loss of our mighty captain, Joe Pavelski, was a tragedy. Signing Eric Karlsson was another terrible decision from our general manager because he is greatly overrated, does not fit with the team and Brent Burns, and had a bad start to The Sharks last year. I was hoping that we would sign another goalie as well because our current goalie, Martin Jones, is good but inconsistently. One thing that has been a positive, however, was the signing of our old captain, who shouldn’t have been traded in the first place, Patrick Marleau. When I found this article on his 1500th game with The Sharks I was eager to here more. The author does a really great job presenting stats, videos, and photos while clearly portraying Marleau’s time on the Maple Leafs, why we got him back, and why we lost him in the first place. I also enjoy the use of quotes from old Maple Leaf teammates, old and new Shark teammates, and Marleau himself in order to understand how they feel about all of this. This article helps demonstrate how complicated moving from one place to another can be. It depicts the effect it has on you and the people around you and it represents the growth and experiences you gain.
