This week in Ms. Burton’s math class week 6, we learned about Polynomials and all the different kinds of equations that happen, like how to multiply them which I am going to be showing you today, how to use algebra tiles with polynomials, and some vocabulary. Some important vocabulary to keep in mind is Expand and Simplify (Expand- Multiply or distribute) {Simplify like terms). The equation I will be going through step by step with you is -2a(b – c + 5d).
step 1: remember the rules for each of these because this question is using exponent rules and bring us back to that unit.
Step 2: use the Distribute law which would be -2a and multiply it to the numbers or letters in the bracket by -2a.
Step 3: write out the new equation that you have, and check you put all negatives with the numbers.
New equation: -2ab + 2ac – 10ad
