Climate in Canada

How does climate change affect the prairies?

Well climate change effects the prairies by the temperature changes when it goes up and the temperature increases. Also, the water supply isn’t very good, and less water gets stored when it snows and when ice happens and then their water supply gets dirty water and it’s not sanitary. The weather is usually extended long winter which is where the water gets cut off and they don’t get a good water supply, also they have short hot summer which is good because all the plants have been frozen or gotten snowed on and gotten lots of rain and the animals are in hibernation so when it is summer, they come out of hibernation for a bit. There are a lot of wildfires in the prairies so that cases air pollution and water pollution, the heat gets trapped and then the gases get trapped to warm our earth.

What is climate change doing to the prairies?

Well, I have already listed some of the things that make climate change happen in the prairies like the water supply on how it gets slowed down and it isn’t very good because they get less water stored and it freezes. It. Mostly snows or is cloudy in the winter but Also, how I said about the temperature changes and the lowest has gotten is to -30° C and it usually stays between -1°F – 75°F Also, the lake levels are falling so their lakes are going down in water and they don’t have much for their animals. They have their winters cold, snowy, wet, cloudy and rainy. Some of their extreme weather is heat waves, droughts, floods and big storms.

  1. Good drawing showing an understanding of biotic/abiotic factors and the four spheres. Your paragraphs show that you comprehend the possible causes and effects of climate change in your region. You could consider adding more information about the amount of carbon stored and moving in your region. Great work citing your sources.
