Week 6 Blog Post: Math 10

This week in Math, I was mostly reviewing for the Unit Test we had this Thursday.  I reviewed big concepts like converting, but what I learned most about in my reviewing, was Pythagorean Theorem.  I’ve always known that a² + b² = c², but I wasn’t sure what to do with it.  For example, I’d do 3² + 6² = 9², but I wasn’t sure just how to calculate it and get the right answer.  So I looked it up, and asked for help from my dad.

 

Here’s how I worked it out:

 

a² + b² = c²

3² + 6² = 9²

9 + 36 = 81

 

Then, I found out that you must find the square root of the answer.

 

The square root of 81 is equal to 9.  Therefore, c² = 9.
