In his TED Talk Kelly said that, “technology has its own agenda…it wants to give us things, and what it gives us is basically progress.”  I agree with his statement because whenever we invent something, we do it to help improve our lives and to make them easier.  When this happens, we are making progress in our society and advancing our knowledge with the technology that we invented.  Kelly said that technology wants to give us things and that “thing” in my opinion is knowledge; technology wants to give us knowledge so that we can invent more and more technology as well as improve our lifestyles.  The scariest part about all this though is that technology does have its own agenda.  Technology has shown us, especially computers, that they can do much more advanced things than humans can and that they can constantly improve and make themselves more powerful all the while creating new and better technology than any human could ever make.  Technology can be a scary thing but I think that it is an essential part of our society and it helps us to develop as a species and it helps to make us more intelligent.
