Today in math class we tried to make footballs out of just spaghetti and marshmallows. The process that my group used was to make triangles out of the spaghetti and marshmallows because triangles are the strongest shape. Then from there we connected each of the triangles together to try to make a somewhat spherical object. I learned that triangles aren’t the best shape to use when making a soccer ball but since every other shape we tried to make fell apart, we stuck with the triangles to make the ball. This is a math problem because a soccer ball is made using 3D geometrical shapes so when doing this activity you can use geometry to help you make the soccer ball.
