Community Connections – My volleyball coach

why I chose my coach?

Today I interviewed one of my volleyball coaches because their job seemed interesting and I really enjoy playing volleyball. I asked them a few questions and they answered them. I think I would want to become a volleyball coach one day because I really enjoy playing volleyball and I would like to teach that to other kids.

question I asked my coach and his answers :
why are you passionate about your job?

He said he is passionate about his job because he loves watching us play and helping us be better. he loves to help us get better by playing with us one on one then giving us tips about what we can work on and what we are good at already.

what advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you’re doing?

he said that you’d need to be patient, supportive and willing to put time and effort into your team because to help us learn and be better it will take a while when you need to help support each member and the whole team together at the same time. you will also have to make sure that you are helping and watching everyone at the same time to help them be better.

if you couldn’t be a volleyball coach what would you be?

he said that if he couldn’t be a volleyball coach he would like to be a teacher of some kind preferably teaching grade 8 and 9’s because thats around the age group that he has been coaching and he feels more comfortable around them.
