Q: How Might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?

A: Your Digital footprint might be a  huge deal breaker when you’re applying for a job because you might be up to no good online (posting rude things online..etc) and your future boss may not be willing to work with a toxic person.  Also, if you want to get into a College or University they may want to do a online check and find some poor choices you made in High School right from your Instagram.

Q: Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

A: 1. Don’t post anything that may be offensive or anything vulgar in general and instead post things that are interesting, kind, etc.  2. Do something good to get on the news or in the newspaper to have that be the first thing to pop up in your name google search.  3. Don’t use your full name in everything, instead use a nickname when on social media because that may be harder to find then your real full name.

Q: What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go on about telling them?

A: I learned that every site you go onto tracks your cookies which means that even though you are using a private, incognito browser it still doesn’t give you 100% privacy.  So, you should always be aware of that fact just in case.  I would just post this on my Edublog for others to see and just have this information in the back of their head at all times to stay out of trouble.
