1) Create a proposal for a local place to focus on for the project (school, community, neighbourhood, public building, store, etc.)

· Why did you choose this place?
Because there are a lot of cars in parking area and people transit to skytrain or west coast express
· Describe the place/region. What makes it unique/ how is this place defined?
People head to their workplace, especially in downtown would use trains.
People from outside of tri-city (Maple ridge, Pitt Medows) also use this station.
Ever Green extension was opened in 2016 so that this transit system would have changed recent resident’s life style.
Bus station is also attached to Coquitlam Central station.
· Brainstorm ways in which you expect this place to contribute GHGs to the atmosphere. (Direct or indirect?)
-Ask questions to people who use train/bus
How long do you use train?
How did you get here? (If car, ask how many kilometers do they drive in a day)
Before the extension was built, which transportation did you use and how long did they use.
Research CO2 emission from westcoast express, skytrain and translink bus.
· What data would you observe/measure to figure out the place’s contributions of GHGs? (not something you Google to find) What is your timeframe?
CO2 emission from westcoast express, skytrain and translink bus.
Number of cars in parking lot.
Number of trains, bus in a day.
Estimated CO2 emission if the extension hadn’t been built.
· Who would you need to contact to complete your research? (Permissions? Utilities?)
Get permission from people if it’s okay to use their information to make presentation.
Ask Translink about the specs of train and buses.
Ask question randomly.
· What groups/sources already exist that you could get assistance from?
I can get information how many trains and buses run in a day from schedule.
Average CO2 emission of cars.
