Geography12 survey

I will conduct survey about energy; especially, fossil fuel.

At the intersection of Shaughnessy avenue and Kingsway avenue, I’ll count the number of cars passing through for 30 minutes.

The reason why I conduct this survey there is except for highways, almost all car have to pass along those roads to enter to or exit from Port Coquitlam.

From data collected by the survey, I’ll estimate a daily traffic volume. I also need to find the average fuel efficiency of cars.

For second step, I’ll ask a question about how long do people drive in a day for about 15 local residents. That gives the average distance of people in Port Coquitlam drive in a day.

At the end, I’ll get the estimated volume of fossil fuel consumed by cars in our city.

(Daily traffic volume)×(Average distance)÷(Average fuel efficiency)=Estimated volume of fuels consumed by cars←Place to conduct a survey
