What would an ethic of care towards the environment look like?

1.How do you personally define an ethic of care?

-Ethic of care is different from the justice. Kind of work happen in particular relationships.

-Various of actions to maintain, contain and repair the ‘world’.   ‘World’ can be our body, ourselves and the environment.

-The care requires attentiveness, responsibility, competence and responsiveness to carry out.

2,What would be needed to create an ethic of care?

-Attentiveness: Be careful to notice the need of help.

-Responsibility: Have to persist in caring someone.

-Competence: The capability of providing sufficient quality of care.

-Responsiveness: To understand the position of people who receive care and improve one’s action.

3,What would we have to believe about the environment to care for it? How should we see it?

We need to assume that the environment need to be restored by human and that requires a long time and tons of effort to us.

The nature has been too damaged to be recovered by itself; demand care from other part.

4,How would we act if we cared about the environment?

The scenario: Climate change

First of all, we need to know what should we do to care the environment. Then, make determination to deal with the issue and be responsible for our care. Finally, think what would be effective actions and review our activity to improve the next one.

5,What would be different about the world if everyone adopted this ethic of care towards the environment? Benefits and drawbacks?

-Certainly, we would be more aware of the environment and take more actions to save it. However, it’s possible to get the late of  development in the industry and technology, since we would choose more eco-friendly way which is not always the most efficient way.

6,Should we adopt an ethic of care towards the environment?

I think so. We should be more aware of what happening in environment and that need to be stopped.

If we destroyed nature completely, we wouldn’t able to live. Taking care of nature means taking care of ourselves.
