1.How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?
Your digital footprint is a unintentional permanent record for the online world.Your future employers most likely will google you before after or during you interview to see what kind of things you’ve been posting through out your social media life. What you post on the internet could be the deal breaker for a lot of companies looking to hire you, you could loose scholarships and colleges and universities could turn you away because of it .
- Your accounts are private.
- Post things that you would be comfortable to talk about and show to your parents, aunts and uncles and grandparents
- Don’t give out your personal information (phone number, address, school)
- If you don’t want to your accounts to be private be conscious of what you are posting.
3.What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?
I learned that most things you post online cant be deleted and if they can it takes a long time. Also if your locations settings on your phone are on you can customize it to what apps can see your location. Apps you don’t use don’t need to know where you are 24/7. I would remind them that they need to think about what they are posting and tell them that if their pictures get onto google or anything like that they could have a hard time getting it deleted and it could affect them getting a job.
