Writer’s and artists provide people with a way to escape from the troubles of their lives. The music, books, art, etc. they create can relieve stress or provide a better understanding of the world to so many people. I would argue that while the developments in technology made by humans may have greatly improved our way of life, the arts and culture we have created improve the quality and enjoyment we get out of it. Art gives people the opportunity to convey what they are feeling, but it also allows us to have insight into each other’s lives, and troubles. It connects people together and improves our lives in a way that technology and science cannot, because of that I think writers and artists are more important to society than scientists and engineers.
