Taming of the Shrew Stop Motion Induction Scene

During this project I worked with Tyson and Jarek. The title of the play is “Taming of the Shrew” and it was written by William Shakespeare. In the induction Sly and the hostess are arguing in a pub because Sly was breaking glasses. The hostess threatens to get the police involved, but Sly passes out before anything can be done. The lord walks into the pub and has an idea for a prank he can pull on Sly. They will make him believe he is part of royalty and was in a coma for many years. The page will dress up as the wife of Sly and convince him they are married. When Sly wakes up, the prank goes perfectly according to plan and Sly is very confused and is believing the lie. Some players walk in and perform a play for Sly. Some challenges we faced were that the project was very time consuming and difficult to organize. During this project I learned that when you do stop motion you should plan ahead and make sure you have certain scenes done by certain times because if you don’t then you can fall behind and it can be very difficult to catch up with the limited time and materials.

Animal Farm Propaganda Poster

imageAnimal Farm Propaganda Poster

This poster uses the the propaganda techniques of name calling, repetition, plain folks, and finally fear. The reason it uses name calling is because near the bottom there is writing that says. “Mankind makes animals suffer.” It calls mankind animal abusers and that they do not treat there animals correctly. The poster uses repetition because at the top and all around the words. “Four legs good, two legs bag.” appear multiple times therefore they are repeating the words. Also, this uses plain folks because it is telling you mankind is destroying animals and main person trying to get away from that is a pig so it can relate to the other animals and convince them that he is just like any other animal. Finally, the propaganda type of fear is also included into the poster, at the bottom it says. “Join us for a better life now.” implying that if they do not follow they will remain to live there lives in misery and continue to do whatever Mr. Jones tells them to do. It also says that man can mistreat animals so if they continue to live by Mr. Jones’ rules he will still mistreat him.
