  1. When you watched your volcano erupt, what did you notice about the “pyroclastic” flow? Describe it’s movement.  I noticed that the pyroclastic flow was moving very quickly down the sides of the volcano.  The pyroclastic flow reached the village by the volcano, very quickly and covered and destroyed it with it’s lava.
  2. When you watched the videos of the Hawaiian Eruption from Mount Kilauea, what did you notice about the way it interacted with the landscape? I noticed that the Eruption of Mount Kilauea destroys everything it touches insight.  The lava is very destructive.
  3. Why is the volcanic activity important for places like Hawaii?
  4. How did people respond to the volcanic activity?  People responded to the volcanic activity of Mount Kilauea by saying that the pyroclastic flow of the lava from Mount Kilauea moves very slow, so it gives people time to evacuate the area.
  5. Compare what you saw in the video to life here in Vancouver. What if the Coquitlam Mountain erupted, how would you respond?  If the Coquitlam Mountain erupted, I would first respond by finding out if I am in danger or not.  Second, I would be doing what I need to do, to be safe.
