How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?

Ex1: Your digital footprint couldn’t affect your future opportunities unless you aren’t careful. If you post inappropriate things or do illegal things during an age you’re not supposed to, it could have an effect.

Ex2: It could have an effect such as; if you’re applying for a job, the person hiring you will probably do a background check. If you have some questionable things posted online, it could have an impact depending on the job and company.

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

1: Make sure to keep things private and choose your audience correctly depending on the thing you’re going to say/post etc.

2: If you’re going to be sending anything to anyone, make sure that you know them well and that they won’t blackmail you with it later on.

3: Be careful on what social media you post certain things and if it’s something that you think might be trackable and easy to find, send it over message or show it to the person yourself.

What other information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

Person Writing on the NotebookI wrote some of the things that I have learned above under the other questions. It is important to be careful what you post on social media even if you’re making sure that its “private” or to someone who you trust. Nowadays, social media is everywhere and is available to everyone, which isn’t always good. If you want to get a job in the future, some companies or employers out there do a background check or something similar.

Overall just make sure to be careful what you do online. It is very important if you want to get a good highly paid job in the future. Stay away from posting inappropriate things or just illegal in general. Be careful who you message or talk to.
