Desmos Art Functions Card 2022

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/ywhq5fmceh

I figured out what equations to use because I used a lot of trial and error as well as using the equations that we know and have used in math this year. yes, I had challenges in figuring out exactly what equations to use and how to shade because it was very difficult for me. An aha moment I had was when I didn’t realize how long this project actually took to complete. I did get help from some of my classmates and others. Some strategies I used was looking up videos online to give me some sense of direction. some things that this assignment helped me learn about functions were how much the negatives and positive have affects on the functions and transformation. It also helped me understand how the x and y moves the functions and how they move  up and down then left and right.

The projects I chose to write about are the movie pitch and the identity project we completed. For the movie pitch, I had to use critical thinking because I had to do a lot of research and I had to find a lot of primary sources which was very difficult. It also took a lot of time for me to finish it because of all the research I had to do and then I also had to make a relevant storyline that made sense to world war 1 which took a lot of time but it was also fun because I really liked my story and thought it was very interesting. I also had to use critical thinking because I had to really think about what research is relevant and what makes sense to put into my story. For the other project which is the identity project, I had to use creative thinking because it was an art piece and I had to make something that described Canada in the 2000s. I came up with some good ideas for it which I liked but I had to paint it and use my creativity to tie all my ideas together. It was pretty easy for me to develop ideas for it because I always had a clue in what I wanted which was helpful. And I really liked this project because I could be creative with it and tie in some of my art skills so this and the movie pitch were probably my favorite projects even though I felt like we needed some more time for the movie pitch

I chose to write about our rube gold burg project that we recently did. This demonstrated my strengths because I had to use my critical thinking because this whole project was basically trial and error and I had to do it over a lot because, either the camera angle wasn’t right or something wouldn’t work. Even though my idea was kind of basic it still took me a lot of time for them to actually line up properly and work. I also had to be very patient with this project because of how long it took it also made me very frustrated at times because it wouldn’t work until the fifteenth time of me trying to make it work. This project taught me that you sometimes have to switch things up to get the result you want because I had to switch my idea multiple times for it to actually work. It also taught me that not to procrastinate because you will have to do a lot of work on the last day but luckily I had the time to. And did not leave it until the last moment and organized it very well so there wasn’t that much pressure or a time crunch for me. I also learned that filming is harder than I thought because getting an angle with everything in the frame is quite hard and I still couldn’t get Lola in the frame because it was just too long so that was making me very frustrated because I took so many tries but yet I still couldn’t in the frame so I just left her out even though you can see a little hop at the end. I can further develop my thinking competencies by putting more time into them and thinkings in-depth about them.
