How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.
My digital footprint right now seems pretty good as far as I know. I’m not commenting rude things on others posts, or posting anything negative myself, and my Instagram account is private so that people I don’t know can’t follow me and see/share my posts. So in the future I need to monitor my digital foot print and make sure I continue to not post negative and/or offensive things so that I can get into a good university, and get a good job afterwards.
Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
1. Only post/write what I’m comfortable with everyone seeing as even people I know could share what I wrote or posted with someone else or on their accounts for their followers who I might not know to see.
2. Do not share any of my, or my friends and family members personal information on social media.
3. Make sure every thing I post is something I’d be okay with my family members like parents and grandparents seeing. (Grandma friendly things)
4. Make sure you keep a secure password on all your social media so that other people and/or your friends can’t go on your accounts and post things you wanted private, or things you just didn’t want others to see.
What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?
I learned that every single thing I have ever written, posted, and saw online is saved and can be found later on in my life, and that can determine whether I get into a good university and get a good job or not. Also that you should keep all your social media accounts password protected. I would bring it up casually in a conversation with friends.
