First you times he first number and times it by the last which gives you 12

After finding that find the factors of 12 and see which add together to -7 in this case -4 and -3 do.

So now you have all the numbers  put everything into the square Once you do that find the common factor of each horizontal or vertical way possible. Which are 4x, -3, x, and -1

And finally when you get those numbers you put them together and you get your answer of $(4x^2 -3) (x-1)$
